Plane-Delivered Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for COVID-19 Recovery and Intervention
The root cause of the high fatality rate in COVID-19 patients is an inability to absorb sufficient oxygen to survive, due to inflammation of the lungs. Mechanical ventilation, while enabling the patient to breathe, does not overcome this problem, leading to a poor survival rate and many secondary problems. Early studies using hyperbaric oxygen therapy – the breathing of oxygen in a pressurised environment – have yielded consistently positive results. By increasing the concentration of oxygen in each breath beyond what is possible at atmospheric pressure, the majority of patients treated have been able to recover. This simple treatment has real potential to impact the COVID-19 pandemic. We will augment global capacity for hyperbaric treatment using currently unused pressurised aircraft, enabling efficient mass scale-up to cope with the crisis.
What We Offer
|
Safe, Easy, Scalable COVID-19 Recovery. Hyperbaric oxygen treatment to recover from COVID-19 and reverse the worst outcomes of active patients, delivered in a safe environment thoes not requite hospitalization. We leverage >$100B in stranded-asset aircraft fleets with low capacity factors, keeping the world safe while producing revenue and jobs for the struggling airline industry.
|
How We Scale
|
The global pandemic has 15M coronavirus cases today increasing 3M / month with 20% hospitalized and needing to recover after discharge (6M patients / year). Later non-COVID treatments include 34M US diabetes patients with 6% foot injuries per year needing HyperBaric Oxygen Therapy (2M patients / year) for which billable insurance coverage is already approved. With another 12 indications approved for medical treatment by HBOT with billing, and with a huge number of underutilized planes available for lease, CairPlanes Serviceable Obtainable Market extends to millions.

Who We Serve
|
'Cair Recipients' include those discharged from hospital and recovering from coronavirus and no longer contagious, as well as those being treated for diabetes, stroke and other conditions (Green Plane), those short of breath (Blue Plane), and confirmed COVID-19 patients needing treatment in a medical setting (Red Plane.)
|
Green Plane - "Recovery"
Non-contagious convalescents recovering from COVID-19 who experience shortness of breath and potentially pulmonary, cardiovascular and neurological impacts. Includes treatment of type 2 diabetes injury, stroke and other conditions. |
Blue Plane - "Prevention"
Early 'Cair Recipients' experiencing shortness of breath & possibly Stage 1 COVID-19. Able to travel by themselves to a CairPlanes treatment center. |
Red Plane - "Intervention"
COVID-19 positive and undergoing hospital care. Hypoxemics with shortness of breath, Chronic Hypoxics that require medical oxygen, and those with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome who are subject to organ failure and admitted to ICU. |
