Straw bale used for houses or offices has shown that a home or office created or surrounded by straw bales insulates the home cheaply with a high insulation value.
Straw-bale construction is a building method that uses bales of straw (commonly wheat, rice, rye and oats straw) as structural elements, building insulation, or both. This construction method is commonly used in natural building or "green" construction projects and because of the good insulation that it offers, straw bale can save the owner hundreds of dollars in heating and cooling bills.
Straw-bale construction uses renewable resources at low cost with high availability and up to R-2 insulation value per inch. conventional building methods may have advantages in humid climates where rot can be an issue, or where space requirements make it difficult to use straw.
